    • Afton Mountain Vineyards

Afton Mountain Vineyards is one of Virginia's pioneer farm wineries. Original vines were planted in 1978 and '79 and their Cabernet Sauvignon vines are among the oldest in Virginia. The Charlottesville vineyards lie on the southeastern slope of the Blue Ridge Mountains at 960 feet in a setting of sublime beauty and excellence of terroir, that elusive fusion of sun, earth, air and water which Europe's "noble" wine grapes need to thrive. We neither irrigate nor use herbicides and employ insecticides only rarely and reluctantly. Our tasting room is open year around although on an abbreviated schedule during the winter. Here you can taste our wines with fine cheeses, pâtés, and other light fare or you can go outside to our picnic area and surrender yourself to the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hours: Mar.-Dec., Wed.-Mon. 10a.m.-6p.m. (10a.m.-5p.m. Nov. and Dec.); Jan.-Feb., Fri.-Mon. 11a.m.-5p.m.; or by appt.

DelFosse Vineyards & Winery is one of the newest wineries in Virginia near Charlottesville and Jefferson's Monticello. Located in the Hickory Creek Valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains, they are in a lovely rural setting. The Charlottesville Winery is hugged by the hills but with the elevation to ensure both rich wines and spectacular views. Visitors can relax and have a quiet picnic by the lake or take a hike or a bike ride on the 5 1/2 miles of trails surrounding the winery. Take a tour of our terraced vineyards or historic buildings and enjoy a tasting of the fine wines, of course! Hours: Wednesday to Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm Monday and Tuesday by appointment
    • Autumn Hill

Autumn Hill Vineyards was started in 1979 by the Schwab family. They have some of the oldest Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon plantings in Virginia.  The first vintage was produced in 1986.  Over the years, owners Avra and Ed have continued to produce "Virginia wines with a European accent" and have grown to love full bodied, dry wines. The winery has grown over the years to include a barrel room where the optimum temperature keeps the wines stable so they can develop slowly in predominantly French Oak barrels to their fullest potential. All the red wines are all unfiltered.
    • Barboursville Vineyards

The tasting room is the centerpiece of many a visit to Barboursville Vineyards. In the style of a Northern Italian farmhouse we greet you with a roaring fire in our double-sided fireplace in winter, and covered loggias in the warm season. Here you can sample more than 15 of our award winning wines, select wine books and accessories in our gift shop, or just relax at a table or on lawns overlooking the vineyards and the Blue Ridge, with your favorite wine.  Hours: Mon – Sat. 10 am – 5 pm, Sunday 11 am – 5 pm
